Many people think that losing weight is as simple as a math equation and will tell you to track your calories.     The thing is, even though exercise and diet help in weight loss, the journey requires much more than that. Factors like age, gender, and starting weight are important to consider and can influence your journey.     Reasons you are not losing weight despite trying 

    • You are eating less but still consuming unhealthy foods. 

    According to various doctors, consuming fewer calories than you take in can definitely help you lose some of your body weight through dieting alone. One way to lose weight is by changing the type of food you eat and focusing on the quality of calories rather than the quantity.

    • Genetics are not working in your favor. 

    Losing weight is a tough journey. You cannot choose the body shape you want and accomplish it through a few days of exercise and dieting. To be able to lose weight efficiently, you must understand your genetics first. Genetics make it harder for people to lose some extra few pounds, and some people may naturally lose weight slower than others. If you keep gaining back weight quickly after losing it, consider a DNA test to check if genetics play a role in your weight loss journey. 

    • You do not drink enough water. 

    Not many people believe this, but drinking enough water (between 2 and 6 cups every day) can help you lose weight efficiently. Since water has no calories, you can drink it as much as you want without making any difference in your body weight. Moreover, water makes you feel full and kills your hunger for some time. Drinking enough water may kill or lessen your urge to drink sodas, caffeinated drinks, etc.
